EDINBURGH
William “Bill” Lister, 100 of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away July 25, 2025 at Homeview Health and Rehabilitation in Franklin, Indiana. He was born December 29, 1924 in Columbus, Indiana. He was the son of Harry and Josephine (Harris) Lister. He married Alberta (Davis) Lister on June 18, 1945 and she preceded him in death on April 13, 1997.
He is survived by his children, William D. (Fanita) Lister of Indio, California, Luanne (Steven) Hill of Poulsbo, Washington, and Jo Lister of Edinburgh, Indiana, grandchildren, Jennifer Andrews of Indio, California, Rachel Swift of Edinburgh, Indiana, Nathan (Hem) Hill of Tacoma, Washington, and Dan Hill of Seattle, Washington, and great-grandchildren, Ethan (Lauryn) Swift of Franklin, Indiana, Piper Swift of Edinburgh, Indiana, and Colin Andrews of Indio, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Harry Robert Lister and Donald Lister, and sister, Frances Kendall.
Bill was a WW11 veteran serving in the US Navy from 1942 until 1966. His time was spent serving on several submarines. He retired in 1987 from Arvin Industries in Columbus, Indiana.
He enjoyed spending time with his family.
A private family service will be conducted at a later date.
