The fall semester of the Columbus Chinese Language School began at Central Middle School, which offered courses in Mandarin Chinese for children ages 3 to 12, with separate classes for adults.

Cynthia Heady won the Fifth Annual Columbus Sprint Triathlon, which consisted of a half-mile swim, 17-mile bike ride and three-mile run.

Waldo Harrison was named interim executive vice president of the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce during the Chamber’s board of directors meeting. Harrison assumed the temporary duties after Robert Muckler resigned.
