“Alexander Girard, Reverberations – Forever” 411 Exhibition Opening — 3:30 p.m., This exhibition curated by Rick Valicenti and Suzie Shin will celebrate Alexander Girard, one of the most influential voices of 20th century design with personal ties to Columbus. Presented by Columbus Area Arts Council in celebration of Exhibit Columbus.
India Day — 4 to 10 p.m., Fourth Street, Columbus. Celebrate India’s Independence Day with dancing, music, food and a DJ. Free admission.
Yes And: Avenue of Architects Celebration — 5:30 to 10 p.m., 5th Street Avenue of Architects, 506 Fifth St., Columbus. The Yes And Opening Day will conclude with an epic celebration on the Avenue of Architects between Eliel Saarinen’s First Christian Church and I. M. Pei’s Bartholomew County Public Library. Food trucks, specialty drink vendors and a DJ will kick off the party at 5:30 p.m. The grand finale Variety Show and Participant Ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. on the Library Plaza. Free.
