The Rev. Kendall Wright spoke at the first session of the Perfecting Race Relations series in Columbus, sponsored by the Columbus African American Ministerial Alliance. The three-day event addressed the issues of race and prejudice in Columbus and across the country.
2000
“Letters and Journals Tell the Story 1861-1865,” an exhibit about the Civil War, opened at Arts in Common. Diaries, letters and journals of area residents were compiled by Sandy Greenlee, curator of the Bartholomew County Historical Society Museum.
1975
Cummins Engine Co.’s Walesboro plant was featured in the Christian Science Monitor newspaper in an article by architecture writer William Marlin. Marlin described the factory as being “built with the worker in mind.”
