Columbus East had its hands full with Franklin Monday night.
The Grizzly Cubs used four goals from Amelia Richter on its way to a 6-0 girls soccer victory at Richard Wigh Soccer Complex.
Richter opened the scoring in the sixth minute. Lily Harvey scored in the 22nd minute, and Richter added goals in the 32nd and 36th minutes to give Franklin a 4-0 lead at halftime.
Richter netted her fourth goal in the 51st minute, giving the Grizzly Cubs a 5-0 advantage. Samantha Frazier scored the final goal in the 68th minute.
Franklin outshot the Olympians (1-1) 25-5, putting 12 shots on goal to one for East. Emma Christie started in goal for the Olympians before moving to the field early in the game. Cara Veach played the rest of the game in goal and recorded eight saves.
While the Grizzly Cubs were playing their season opener, East was playing its second game of the season. The Olympians were coming off a 6-0 win against Indian Creek in Saturday’s opener.
The Olympians will be back in action Wednesday at Bloomington North.
