Trinity tops East

Trinity Lutheran opened its boys tennis season Monday with a 4-1 win at Columbus East.

Jack Stuckwisch beat Trevor Ernst 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, and Daniel Naewedde outlasted Kai Bergmann 6-4, 6-7 (1), (10-7) at No. 3 singles for the Cougars. Trinity’s Luke Schepman and Reed Roeder topped Michael Reed and Micah Wettschurack 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, and Ross Bevers and Zach Lister defeated Carson Hartsook and Cooper Harry 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.

The win for the Olympians (1-1) came at No. 2 singles, where Landon Redleman beat Jonathan Naewedde 7-5, 2-6, (10-8).
