Violinist Vanessa Edwards was announced as the winner of the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic’s Golden Baton Award “for exemplary commitment to the musical arts.” Edwards had worked as stage manager for the orchestra for several years.

City, state and federal officials joined ArvinMeritor executives in opening the Columbus Technical Center at County Roads 450S and 175W. The $8.5 million facility covered almost 60,000 square feet and could house 120 employees.
1975
Ken Johnson of Elizabethtown received a new 1975 Ford Granada after winning Mahan Ford’s “Teacup Derby.” Mahan averaged 37.5 miles per gallon while driving a 1975 Pinto.
