Class 3A No. 19 Columbus North used a pair of second-half goals from Luccas Peda to claim a 3-1 boys soccer win against New Albany Tuesday.
Manuel Valle scored the first goal for North (2-2-1) off a cross from Peda in the 13th minute. The game was tied 1-1 at halftime.
Peda stole a pass and rocketed one in from 38 yards in the 45th minute. Peda’s final goal came in the 61st minute after taking a dropkick from goalkeeper Jaden Andrade and beating a defender.
North outshot New Albany 20-3, putting nine shots on goal to three for New Albany. Nico de Linan Palacios played the first 51 minutes in goal, and Andrade recorded two saves over the final 29 minutes.
