COLUMBUS
Nina Grimes Bowles, age 95, of Columbus, Indiana, passed away in Columbus, Indiana on August 23, 2025. Born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, Nina was a devoted mother and wife who loved time with family, playing cards, and singing. She was a faithful Christian woman.
She is survived by seven siblings: Betty Moore, Shirley Grimes, Barbara Matlock, Judy Hadley, Larry Joe Grimes, Bill Grimes, and Jerry “Wayne” Grimes. Nina also leaves behind one son, Clyde Bowles Jr. (Karen Bowles); four grandchildren, Christy Bowles, Donovan Bowles, Tricia Olson-Gibson (Bob Gibson), and Patrick Bowles (Angelina Bowles); three great-grandchildren, Patrick Bowles Jr., Natalia Bowles, and Sabrina Bowles; and one great-great-grandchild, Aylah Bello. She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Omar Bowles, her son Bobby Bowles, and daughter Cathy Olson.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street; with Reverend Lane Loman officiating. Family and friends may gather for visitation from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday. Nina will be laid to rest at Bethel Baptist Cemetery.
