Warrant service leads to arrest of three in Jennings County

JENNINGS COUNTY — Jennings County Sheriff deputies arrested three people on Ascot Court in Country Squire Lakes when serving a Jennings Circuit Court arrest warrant on Wednesday.

Upon arrival, deputies learned that an individual with a warrant was inside of the residence. Deputies entered and located the male subject, identified as Dustin Patterson, 39, of North Vernon, hiding inside of a closet. Two more individuals, Eric Armstrong, 44, North Vernon, who was the homeowner, and Wendy Forwalt, 40, North Vernon, who resides at the residence as well, were located inside of the residence and were detained.

During this incident, deputies observed items of drug paraphernalia in plain view. Deputy Allen Ritchie then applied for and was granted a search warrant for the residence.

During a search, deputies located over 70 fentanyl filled capsules, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, packaging material, and digital scales. All three individuals were transported to the Jennings County Jail and where they were remanded to Jail Staff on the following preliminary charges:

Dealing in a narcotic drug- Level 2 felony

Possession of a narcotic drug over 28 Grams- Level 3 felony

Possession of methamphetamine- Level 6 felony

Maintaining a common nuisance- Level 6 felony

Possession of paraphernalia- Class C misdemeanor

Armstrong’s bond was set at $6,255.

Wendy Forwatt

Dealing in a narcotic crug- Level 2 felony

Possession of a narcotic drug over 28 Grams- Level 3 felony

Possession of methamphetamine- Level 6 felony

Maintaining a common nuisance- Level 6 felony

Possession of paraphernalia- Class C misdemeanor

Forwatt’s bond was set at $2,o55.
