Looking Back – Sept. 2

Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. buses unload pupils at Columbus East High School as school began with a half-day enrollment session on Sept. 2, 1975.

2015

The Columbus East Olympians won the Great American Rivalry Fitness Challenge against Columbus North High School. The challenge was sponsored by the U.S. Army and the Great American Rivalry Series.

2000

Harry McCawley, associate editor of The Republic, and Judy Summerville were recognized for their leadership and service to the community by the Columbus Rotary Club, which named the two Paul Harris Fellows.

1975

Vence Meneely of Hope was presented with a chestnut yearling quarter horse named Two-Eyed Chino by the Indiana Quarter Horse Association for knowing more about horses than anyone else at the 4-H Horse and Pony Show at the Indiana State Fair.
