INDIANAPOLIS — Columbus East volleyball went 1-3 against some big competition in Saturday’s Southport Early Bird Tournament.
The Olympians opened the day with a 25-22, 19-25, 15-10 win against Silver Creek before falling to perennial powers Roncalli 25-8, 25-6; Brownstown Central 25-7, 25-11 and Providence 25-7, 25-16.
Krea Martin led East (7-9) with 28 digs and four aces. Addy Dean pounded 14 kills, Payten Osborn recorded 22 assists and Lilah Klei had six blocks.
Also for the Olympians, Klei tallied seven kills and one ace, and Izzy Rice pounded seven kills. Kenlee Gault notched 10 assists, Martin added six assists, Anika Jenkins had five blocks, Cadence Smith contributed four blocks, Osborn posted 18 digs and one ace and Kadence Miller added nine digs.
