New Albany fends off Olympians

Columbus East won the second set to tie Thursday’s Hoosier Hills Conference match, but New Albany took the last two to claim a 25-20, 17-25, 25-21, 25-14 volleyball victory.

Payten Osborn led the Olympians (10-12, 3-2) with 17 assists and three aces. Chloe Gill pounded 10 kills, Anika Jenkins had two blocks and Krea Martin notched 24 digs.

Also for East, Jenkins tallied seven kills, Izzy Rice added six kills and Shelby Sharp recorded 11 assists and one ace. Cadence Smith posted one block and 10 digs, Lilah Klei and Addy Dean each had one block, Osborn added 11 digs and Martin and Kenlee Gault each served one ace.
