Edinburgh received a $400,000 grant through the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs to preserve the historic Blue River building near the corner of East Main Cross and West Walnut streets. Town officials planned to convert the brick building into a community center.

Columbus-based Onkyo America Inc. was purchased by Global Technovations for $25 million. Onkyo manufactured automotive speakers for companies including General Motors and DaimlerChrysler.

Edinburgh Community High School senior Patricia Harmon was crowned the 1975 Edinburgh Walnut Festival Queen during a ceremony in the school gym. Carolyn Coy was runner-up.
