
Jerry Lee Burton and Marilyn Losey, both Edinburgh residents, hold a 44-star flag found while Burton was helping his brother-in-law remodel a home on West Main Cross Street in Edinburgh on Sept. 25, 1975. The flag was found inside a wall being torn down and was wrapped in an 1896 newspaper.
2015
The inaugural Great Girls and Wonderful Women luncheon was held in the Foundation for Youth gym, which brought together nearly 200 guests. Keynote speaker Dawn Andrews of Garb2ART addressed the crowd, and music was provided by the Columbus Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.
2000
The 33rd annual Hope Heritage Days parade marched on despite a steady rain, and included marching bands, vintage cars, Shriners on go-karts and a Purdue Boilermaker steam train.
1975
The World War I memorial on the first floor of the Bartholomew County Courthouse was taken down and polished, removing tarnish that made reading the names listed difficult. The bronze plaques were then remounted and displayed with a flag representing WWI veterans in the county.
