Looking Back – Sept. 26

Local children ranging from toddlers to sixth-graders participated in the third annual Mill Race Marathon Kids’ Fun Run, part of an entire weekend of race and health-related activities. A total of 1,286 kids ran to the finish line.

2000

Three of the four candidates for Indiana’s 2nd Congressional District participated in the first district-wide debate at The Commons. The candidates were Republican Mike Pence, independent Bill Frazier and Democrat Bob Rock.

The Head Start program was given a $108,313 continuation grant from the Department of Health, Education and Welfare after it was approved by the board of directors of the Region 11 Development Commission.
