Bryan Morseman of Bath, New York, won the third annual men’s Mill Race Marathon and Gisela Lamke won the women’s marathon. Morseman’s time was 2:26:41 and Lamke’s time was 2:46:06.

Greg and Pam Schmelz opened the Shadey Lake Winery in Taylorsville, named after their home on Becks Grove Road. The couple specialized in dry fruit wines including cherry, strawberry and blueberry.
1975
Columbus North beat the undefeated Martinsville 22-20 in what North coach Bill McCaa called “the greatest high school victory of his 4-year career.” The game was the second South Central Conference game of the season for both teams.
