City officials approved a final change order for work that saw improvements to 31 street segments, comprised of just under six miles of city roads.
Columbus Board of Public Works and Safety members on Tuesday approved a change order increasing the cost of a project using state Community Crossings Matching Grant (CCMG) program funds from $2.27 million to $2.35 million, a 3.5% increase.
The city at the start of the year applied for and received the maximum $1.5 million from the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) through the program.
To qualify, municipalities are required to provide matching local funds, depending on the size of a community. For cities and towns with a population greater than 10,000 like Columbus, local governments are required to match the amount of funding received through the INDOT program dollar for dollar, meaning the project had access to funds up to $3 million.
The board in April enlisted All Star Paving, Inc. to do the work after they submitted the low-bid out of four.
The work involved improvements to the following streets:
- Gladstone Avenue from State Road 46 to 445’ south of Marr Road
- Hartford Avenue from Lockerbie Drive to 200’ east of Vinewood Drive
- Vinewood Drive from Hartford Avenue to Regency Drive
- Spring Court from Vinewood Drive to Terminus
- Norway Court from Vinewood Drive to Terminus
- Vinewood Court from Vinewood Drive to Terminus
- Prairie Drive from Dawnshire Drive to Regency Drive
- Chandler Lane East from Chandler Lane to Dawnshire Drive
- Chandler Lane from Timbercrest Drive to Timbercrest Drive
- Magnolia Drive from Flintwood Drive to Wedgewood Drive
- Magnolia Drive from Flintwood Drive to Wedgewood Drive
- Yellowwood Drive from Flintwood Drive to Wedgewood Drive
- Yellowwood Court from Yellowwood Drive to Terminus
- Cheyenne Trail from Cheyenne Court to Arapahoe Trail
