Columbus Regional Health has introduced a new surgeon to its medical staff.
As a general surgeon, Dr. Sylvester Osayi, performs a variety of procedures, including robotic-assisted, laparoscopic, and open surgeries, endoscopies, wound care, hernia repair, gallbladder removal, and colon surgery. He has joined Columbus Regional Health General Surgery.
Osayi is fluent in English and the languages of Nigeria, including Igbo. His diverse background has helped him to work well with people of varying cultures. He says he likes having patients be in the driver’s seat of their healthcare and involved in decision-making. He also believes in taking patient’s medical and social needs into consideration when making healthcare decisions. He is the author of several publications.
Prior to joining Columbus Regional Health, He was a general surgeon at Reid Health in Richmond.
He and his wife have four children. They enjoy spending time with family and being outdoors.
