One in nine people over 65 years of age have dementia, and about one-half of people over 85 have some form of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease. In response to the growing need, Thrive Alliance is leading the effort to create dementia friendly communities across South Central Indiana.
Thrive Alliance will be offering an information session for anyone interested in learning how to become a Dementia Friend and what they can do to make our community more Dementia friendly.
Dementia Champion, Jane Ferril of Thrive Alliance, will lead two Dementia Friends information sessions on Thursday, Nov. 20 from 10 to 11 a.m. and 2 to 3 p.m. at The Sanctuary Church, 3939 Central Ave., Columbus.
There is no charge, but space is limited, so RSVP to jferril@thrive-alliance.org or 812-372-6918 Ext. 2402.
