An investigation is continuing into a motorcycle accident over the weekend that resulted in a Columbus teenager’s death.
Columbus police and the Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office identified the motorcyclist as Isai Quintana-Solis, 19.
Columbus Police Department spokesman Lt. Skylar Berry said police were called at 8:13 a.m. Saturday after an individual called to notify they had found the accident scene at 3547 E. State St., near State Street and Fairview Drive in Columbus.
An accident reconstruction team made up of CPD and Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies is continuing the investigation as to when the accident occurred and how it happened.
Berry said it is believed the victim’s 2009 Suzuki motorcycle went off the road for an unknown reason at an undetermined time before he was found Saturday morning.
Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office spokesman and Deputy Coroner Clayton Nolting said cause of death is being listed as blunt force trauma and manner of death is accidental. Toxicology tests are pending, according to Nolting.
