Donald Irvin Lucas

COLUMBUS

Donald Irvin Lucas, 71, of Columbus, died at 10:16 a.m. on October 12, 2025 at Columbus Regional Hospital. Don was born on March 12, 1954 in Columbus, the son of Malcum Lucas and Maude (Bradley) Lucas. He married Ruth Ann Schwering on August 13, 1976.

Don was a proud graduate of Columbus North High School and spent many dedicated years working at Dolly Madison Bakery before retiring, later continuing his hard work with B.C.S.C. He was an avid NASCAR fan who loved spending time outdoors, whether mowing yards, fixing mowers or four-wheelers, or simply enjoying nature. Donald had a deep appreciation for country and bluegrass music, and you could often find him with an ice-cold Coca-Cola in hand. Above all, he was a number one husband, dad, and grandfather, his greatest joy came from the love and laughter he shared with his grandchildren.
