Columbus East High School partnered with Indiana Elite AAU Basketball Association to put on a free basketball clinic for boys in second through eighth grades and coaches at the high school. The clinic was open to all players, regardless of what high school they planned to attend.
2000
Columbus North and Columbus East high school bands received Division 1 ratings in Indiana State School Music Association regional band contests. North competed in Class A at Bedford and East competed in Class B at Jeffersonville.
1975
Reports of a UFO flying through the south and west parts of Bartholomew County were found to actually be a low-flying plane. The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department had received five calls reporting the UFO.
