To mark its 25th anniversary in Columbus, Toyota Industrial Equipment Manufacturing announced it would foot most of the bill to create a $750,000 to $1 million indoor soccer complex on the Columbus Municipal AirPark campus.

Columbus East High School graduate and Purdue University senior Bryan Shaffer had been piloting the 10,800-pound Boilermaker Special for four years. Shaffer drove the train to Hope Heritage Days and a local die-hard Purdue fan’s 50th birthday party.
