Dale Gordon Patterson, 76, of Columbus, Indiana, passed away on October 19, 2025. Born on July 28, 1949, Dale dedicated over 30 years to nurturing young minds as an Art teacher at Columbus North High School. He was a respected Reserve in the United States Navy, where he served with honor and commitment.
Dale was a loving husband to his late wife, Kristen Patterson, for 52 years, and a cherished father and grandfather. He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, survived by his sons, Dane Patterson and Dylan Patterson (Heather), and grandchildren, Carter and Harper Patterson. His sisters, Linda (Randy) Miller and Patty Newson (Dave), also survive him in Pennsylvania. Dale was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Kristen.
An alumnus of Taylor University and Indiana University, Dale was deeply engaged in the arts and education community. His passions extended beyond the classroom to his personal interests in art, poetry, fishing, music, and sports especially events involving his children and grandchildren.
Dale was a faithful member of New Hope Christian Church in Columbus, where a memorial service will be held on October 28th from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM, with the service taking place from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM. His life and spirit will be cherished among family, friends, and all those he encountered throughout his amazing journey.
