MIDWAY, Ky. — The IU Columbus women’s soccer team won for the second time in three days Saturday, posting a 2-0 River States Conference shutout at Midway.
Madalynn Phillips scored off an assist from Parker Austrup, and Rebecca Valdez netted an unassisted goal for the Crimson Pride (4-9-2, 2-6). IUC outshot Midway 14-11, with both teams putting five shots on goal. Zoe Bippus recorded five saves in the shutout.
The IUC men (5-9-1, 2-5) fell to Midway 2-1. Kevin Cruz scored off an assist from Columbus North graduate Eduardo Cordova. Midway outshot the Crimson Pride 17-13, but IUC had a 6-5 edge in shots on goal. Jacob Kasarda posted three saves.
IUC concludes the regular season with home women’s-men’s doubheaders Thursday against Oakland City and Nov. 1 against Kentucky Christian.
