IU Columbus Division of Business to present Business Outlook

The Division of Business at Indiana University Columbus will host its annual Economic Outlook Panel Nov. 5 at The Commons, 300 Washington St., in partnership with the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce, the IU Kelley School of Business, and Centra Credit Union. Check-in begins at 11:30 a.m.

The cost to attend is $45 for individuals, and organizations can sponsor a table of six for $400 or table of eight for $500, which includes premium reserved seating. All proceeds help to fund scholarships for IU Columbus business students. The event includes lunch and a distinguished speaker panel presenting the 2026 forecast and what it means for interest rates, inflation, jobs, unemployment, GDP, and community members.

The Economic Outlook Panel will be moderated by Kevin Jones, Ed.D., associate professor of management in the Division of Business at IU Columbus.

Panelists include:

  • U.S. and International outlook: Jennifer Lynn Rice, Ph.D., Senior Lecturer in the Business Economics & Public Policy department at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
  • Financial Markets outlook: Ryan Brewer, Ph.D., Division Head and Associate Professor of Finance in the Division of Business at IU Columbus.
  • State of Indiana outlook: Phil Powell, Ph.D., Executive Director of the Indiana Business Research Center and Clinical Professor of Business Economics and Public Policy at the IU Kelley School of Business.
  • Local outlook: Steven Mohler, DBA, Associate Professor of Management in the Division of Business at IU Columbus.

The IU Kelley School of Business has presented these forecasts since 1972, based on research from its Indiana Business Research Center. It will present 11 Futurecast 2026 economic outlook panels across the state, including the 2026 Economic Outlook Panel in Columbus.
