Jettie M. Vandiver

Jettie Mae (Goad) Vandiver, 90, died on October 27, 2025 at her home surrounded by family.

Jettie was born in Glasgow, Kentucky on May 7, 1935 to Garlon Clemons Goad and Lela Lois (Byrd) Goad. She lived on the family farm until the family moved to Columbus, Indiana in 1947.

She married William Marce Vandiver on April 16, 1955 in Columbus, Indiana.

Jettie was a devoted housewife and a former member of the tenth street Church of Christ in Columbus. Mrs. Vandiver was also a member of Hartsville Chapter No. 550 Order of the Eastern Star.

Jettie is survived by a daughter, Carletta (Mark) White; son, Billy Joe Vandiver; five grandchildren, Shauna Baker, Barry (Jessica) White, Chad (Rochelle) Vandiver, Tyler Vandiver, Devon Vandiver, all of Columbus; several great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; sisters, Madeline Asher, Linda Perry and Brenda Coles, all of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William M. Vandiver; parents, Garlon and Lois Goad; sisters, Carnell Goad, Lola Ann Goad, and brother, Carol Morris Goad.

The funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Thomas Ganus officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. There will be an Order of the Eastern Star Service Friday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Burial will take place at Garland Brook Cemetery next to her husband, William.
