Barbara Ann Jasper, 87, of Hope passed from this life on Monday, October 27, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. at Miller’s Merry Manor.
She was born on March 27, 1938, in Columbus, Indiana, to the late Elmer C. and Charlotte (Dinkins) Tressler. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose warmth and kindness touched all who knew her.
Barbara’s early life in Columbus was filled with the love of her family and community. While attending Cincinnati Bible Seminary, she found her life partner marrying John “Paul” Jasper on March 1, 1961, also attending CBS. Together, they embarked on a journey of love and partnership that would last until Paul’s passing in January 2024.
Barbara owned and operated Jasper Tax Service, where she assisted countless members of her community with her exceptional professionalism and care. She always enjoyed camping and photography.
Barbara’s legacy lives on through her family. She is survived by her son, Kevin Jasper of Columbus; daughter-in-law, Heidi Jasper of Hope; her grandchildren, Jessica (Andrew) Clemans, Candice (Jon) Icenogle, David Jasper, Lincoln Jasper; and her great-grandchildren, Lyndon Dove and Eowyn Icenogle. Each family member carries a piece of her spirit, wisdom, and love.
Preceded in death by her parents, her brother Donald Tressler in 1936, her husband John Paul Jasper in 2024; son, Brian Jasper; and her great grandchild Preston Tichenor.
As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate her long and fulfilling life, knowing that her love and legacy will endure in the lives of those she loved. Her memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing this extraordinary woman.
Family and friends may gather for visitation Sunday from 1-3 p.m. at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street and also one hour prior to services on Monday at the funeral home.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street.
Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery.
