Columbus East senior Emilio Quintero Aguirre is an honorable mention selection on the boys side. North senior Allison Kolhouse is a girls honorable mention honoree.
Meanwhile, former longtime Columbus East girls coach Ilya Schwartzman honored with President’s Award for his contributions to the ISCA over the years. Schwartzman spent the past year as a boys assistant coach at Whiteland.
Locals selected All-District
Two Columbus North players and four players from Class A state champion Trinity Lutheran have been named All-District by the Indiana High School Volleyball Coaches Association.
North seniors Karen Dutro and Morgan Osborn made the Class 4A South District team. Jennings County senior Kaydence Lowman is on the 3A South District team.
Trinity seniors Bailey Bonde and Maddie Adams and sophomores Rachel Bonde and Bella Wehmiller made the Class A Central District team.
Jets’ Oliver to play baseball at IUC
Hauser senior James Oliver has committed to continue his baseball career at IU Columbus.

Oliver, a pitcher and corner infielder, transferred to Hauser this summer from Southwestern (Shelby). He played No. 1 singles for the Jets boys tennis team this fall.
Cougars, Eagles named All-MIFC
Several players from South Decatur and Brown County have been named to the All-Mid-Indiana Football Conference team.
South Decatur’s Ladd Hampton, Jayden Jackson-Ray and Elan Phelps and Brown County’s Quentin Bell and Hayden Taylor made the first team. South Decatur’s Ryker Martin and Brown County’s Waylon Reeves and Finn Treacy are honorable mention selections.
North girls hoops earns Exemplary Report
Columbus North girls basketball has earned an Exemplary Behavior Report following its season-opening win against Franklin Saturday.
“Coach (Brett) White and his whole staff and players did an Amazing Job! and fans showed Great Sportsmanship! GREAT JOB COLUMBUS NORTH!!!” the report sent to the IHSAA read.
The Bull Dogs have a pair of home games this week. They will host Mooresville Tuesday and Martinsville Thursday. The Martinsville game originally was scheduled for Friday, but was moved because the Artesians have a regional football game Friday night.
