Veterans Day Ceremony — 11 a.m., Bartholomew County Courthouse, 234 Washington St., Columbus. The annual ceremony at the Bartholomew County Memorial for Veterans will include patriotic music from Southern Indiana Pipes and Drums, a message from keynote speaker John Conner, a West Point graduate and infantry leader in Vietnam and three rifle volleys from the American Legion Post #24. Limited seating will be available, so attendees are encouraged to bring seating. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be moved to Columbus City Hall.

American Legion Veterans Day Event — 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., American Legion Post #24, 2515 25th St., Columbus. Veterans are invited to enjoy a gourmet burger and a beer at the event, presented by the Nashville Chophouse and Chef Joe Oliphant, U.S. Navy Honor guard. Cost is $15 for non-veterans. A form of veteran ID is requested from those who attend.

“A Veterans Day Parade” — 2 p.m., Mill Race Center, 900 Lindsey St., Columbus. Mill Race Center and The Lasting Impressions will present “A Veterans Day Parade,” a USO musical with dessert. Tickets are $5 for MRC members and $10 for non-members. Veterans can attend for free. For reservations, call the MRC business office at 812-376-9241.

TOPS (Take Pounds Off Sensibly) No. 0210 — 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 719 Fifth St., Columbus. Enter through Door A. Weigh in is at 3:20 p.m. You do not need to be a member of St. Peter’s to attend. All are welcome. For more information, call Lynne Jessop at 805-746-4344.

Just Friends Adult Day Services Art Fair — 3:30 to 4:40 p.m., Just Friends Adult Day Services, 900 Lindsey St., Columbus. The event will display a variety of paintings, mixed media pieces, and crafts—all designed and produced by people who attend Just Friends. Guests who attend the art fair can enjoy light snacks and beverages while perusing artwork and learning more about the work of Just Friends in the community.

Evening Star Quilters — 5:30 p.m., Mill Race Center, 900 Lindsey St., Columbus. Whittney Loyd of Turning Point will be present to thank those who support the organization, and Anna Carmon and Denise Nehl will lead a holiday wreath ornament craft. Free admission to quilters.

Perinatal Support Group — 6:30 to 8 p.m., Family Service Inc., 1531 13th St., Columbus. Join the Perinatal Moms Support Group (Pregnant & Post Partum) hosted by Jobeth and Cathy. The group is free. For more information, contact lteague@familyservicebc.org.

Sound and Spirit of Columbus Fall Community Night — 8 p.m., Columbus North High School, 1400 25th St., Columbus. Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp.’s Sound and Spirit of Columbus will perform this year’s show, “Elysium,” in full uniform on Max Andress Field starting at 8 p.m., followed by the traditional senior parent run through. Spirit wear and blankets will be for sale in the stadium from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. and after the performances inside the cafeteria, with proceeds benefiting the Sound and Spirit. A 50/50 raffle will also happen, with tickets being sold in the stadium from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Food vendors will be in the parking lot outside the cafeteria from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. This year’s senior Sound and Spirit members will also be honored with special displays in the cafeteria.
