Bartholomew County Solid Waste Management District employees surprised residents with special gifts if they were caught recycling in public during the nationwide America Recycles Day. Columbus residents had disposed of more than 1,400 tons of recyclable materials during the first eight months of the city’s new curbside recycling program.
