Ivy Tech next week is offering a free session for those seeking information and resources about how to navigate the financial side of higher education.
Ivy Tech Columbus is partnering with INvestED to host an informational session focused on ways students and families can pay for college wisely.
The session — ideal for high school students, current college students and parents — will be on Tuesday, November 17 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Moravec Hall, 4475 Central Ave.
The session will be led by a representative from INvestED, Indiana’s only state-based nonprofit financial aid advising and student loan organization.
The nonprofit has been around for 45 years and has the goal of showing how students can maximize the amount of scholarship money put toward their education, while graduating with the least amount of debt as possible, according to the INvestEd website.
The evening will encompass topics like how to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), identify scholarships and grants, save for college expenses, and understand student loans.
Ivy Tech admissions staff will also be on hand to discuss application steps, enrollment, and academic programs. However, space is limited to 40 employees so early registration is encouraged.
People can register by contacting Dr. Kristi Samples at ksamples@ivytech.edu.
