Austin Perry // Columbus North junior basketball player

Perry led the Bull Dogs with 31 points in a 68-55 win against Heritage Christian and 18 points in Saturday’s 59-54 win against Hauser.

His performance last week: “I feel great about it. Obviously, there are a lot of things I can do better, but ultimately, what I’m worried about is winning the game and doing whatever I can to help the team win.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I have a dynamic warmup I do before every game, a ball-handling warmup.”

Favorite drink: “Canada Dry Ginger Ale”

Favorite food: “My mom’s lasagna”

Favorite class: “AP Pre-Calculus.”

Favorite sports team: “Butler basketball”

Favorite athlete: “(Indiana Pacers) TJ McConnell or Andrew Nembhard”

Role model: “My grandpa (Andy Denny)”

Best advice: “Always stay humble and hungry and do everything with a lot of humility.”

Athletics goal: “I definitely want to play college basketball, and for golf, I want to make it to state as a team this year.”

If you could travel anywhere: “I definitely want to go to Dubai. I just love the atmosphere there, and the city looks really cool.”

Ella Anthis

Anthis scored 15 points to lead the Olympians to a 60-29 win against South Decatur.

Her performance last week: “I think as a team, we played really good together. We had some good transition. As usual, I think there’s ups and downs, but we did good.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “Usually before home games, I’ll get Jimmy Johns.”

Favorite drink: “Coke”

Favorite food: “Steak”

Favorite class: “Dental. I want to be a dentist.”

Favorite sports team: “Indiana University”

Favorite athlete: “Josh Allen, because I’m a Buffalo Bills fan.”

Role model: “My dad (John Anthis).”

Best advice: “My dad has always told me, ‘Confidence is key,’ and to keep my head up.”

Athletics goal: “As a team, I want to go at least .500 this year.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Greece, because it’s just so pretty. You can swim, and you can walk around the towns. It seems fun.”
