Big comeback lifts North past Perry Meridian

INDIANAPOLIS — After falling behind perennial power Perry Meridian 30-0 and trailing 36-4 midway through Thursday’s wrestling match, Columbus North came storming back.

The Bull Dogs won the last seven matches, outscoring the Falcons 33-0, to pull out a 37-36 victory.

Cohen Long started the comeback with a tech fall at 150 pounds. James Scruggs pulled out a 1-0 decision at 157 and Asher Ratliff won by pin at 165 to cut the deficit to 36-18.

A major decision by Eric Streeval at 175 and pin by Darrell Hicks at 190 and Dylan Canas at 215 pulled North within 36-34. Servando Lozano then pulled out a 1-0 decision at 285 to give the Bull Dogs the one-point victory.

North’s first win of the match came on a major decision from Harper Hardeback at 138.
