The 25th annual Festival of Lights Parade marked its Silver Anniversary with more than 100 parade entries and a shoulder-to-shoulder crowd. Favorable weather in the upper 30s drew as many as 25,000 people.

More than 60 bicycles were purchased with donations raised by Leadership Bartholomew County’s Class of 2001 and donated to the Fireman’s Cheer Fund to be distributed to local families.

Host Columbus North won its second straight title in its own Columbus Relays at the high school. The Bull Frogs won four of eight events, with 104 points over Bloomington’s 90 points.
