SEYMOUR
Carra L. Lian, 63, of Seymour, IN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at her home. Born July 12, 1962, in Zelienople, PA, she was the daughter of Jack Eldar and Sharon Jane (Fishback) Lian.
Carra was a 1980 graduate of Columbus East High School, and a 1984 graduate of Franklin Collage with her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. In her younger years Carra worked for the Columbus Girls Club and then for Koala, where she worked with teenagers. She then became a case manager for Centerstone for over 20 years, until 2014. She continued to be an advocate for those with mental health issues and was a voice for those that couldn’t speak up for themselves. She also worked at Goodwill in Seymour until her passing.
Carra was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She enjoyed reading, cross stitching, watching TV , swimming, and she loved the Indiana Fever. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
Carra is survived by her sister, Amy Lian and husband Rick Jones of Indianapolis; her uncle and aunt, Rolf and Ann Marie Lian; and aunt, Selma Lian both of Oslo Norway. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Sharon Lian; sister, Beth Lian; grandparents, Martin and Betty Fishback; Alf and Louise Lian.
A memorial service for Carra will be held at a later date in the summer. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Jackson County Humane Society, the Seymour Girls Club, or the Columbus Girls Club.
