Owens Communications Inc. of Columbus announced it would merge with Emergency Radio Service of Ligonier on Jan. 1. OCI provided business-critical communications solutions to public safety, government, education, health care and enterprise customers.

IUPUC coworkers of Columbus’ Shirley Pappas, as well as North Christian Church donors, bought her a 1996 Buick from Renner Motors Inc. after her car was stolen. Pappas’ coworkers donated $800 and the church donated $1,200.

Members of the congregation of Shiloh Baptist Church created a nativity scene at The Commons as part of a reenactment of Jesus’ birth. Music was provided by the church’s choir.
