The Columbus East boys swimmers split a triple-dual Saturday morning, beating Trinity Lutheran 87-7 and falling to New Albany 77-74. The Olympian girls lost to New Albany 80-20 and Trinity 29-21.
Mason Bean won the 200-yard freestyle (2 minutes, 5.13 seconds) and 500 freestyle (5:59.24), Josh Pendleton took 200 individual medley (2:06.73) and 100 butterfly (57.10) and Ryan Turner captured the 50 freestyle (25.49) and 100 freestyle (56.90) to lead the East boys. The Olympians also won the 200 medley (1:59.05) and 400 freestyle (3:38.75) relays.
The Olympians’ Baylee Benefield won the girls 200 freestyle (2:37.56). Trinity’s Liz Downey took the 100 freestyle (1:01.95) and Kinsley Storey captured the 100 breaststroke (1:35.00).
