Centra Credit Union members and employees, along with local residents, raised more than $10,000 this holiday season for local charities supporting children and families in need, the organization said Friday.
The funds were collected through Centra’s Holiday Giving Program, which gathers donations for nonprofit groups that provide gifts and essential support during the holiday season, including the Columbus Firemen’s Cheer Fund, Columbus Shop with a Cop and Turning Point Domestic Violence Service’s Holiday Store.
Centra members and community supporters have helped more than 5,000 families over the past 13 years of the Holiday Giving Program, the organization said.
“This year’s theme was ‘Give a little. Help a lot,’ which reminds us that every contribution made, no matter the size, has the power to brighten a child’s holiday,” Centra Director of Community Involvement Jenni Carr said in a statement on Thursday.
