The Columbus North Class 4A No. 2 girls basketball team beat Penn 67-52 in the Subway/Columbus North Invitational Championship after a final 3-pointer from Paige Littrell.

Michael Gabbard of Columbus was named plant manager of Diamet Corp. Gabbard joined Diamet in 1988 as a machining group leader and became the production manager in 1996.

The Continental Singers, a Bicentennial choir comprised of Bartholomew County residents, presented their “I Love America” musical at First United Presbyterian Church. The three-part musical included a studio orchestra, costumes and choreography.
