2016

David A. Doup was selected to succeed Tracy Souza on the six-member Columbus Regional Hospital Board of Trustees after Souza stepped down after 16 years on the board. Doup also served on the board of trustees for the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp.

2001

The temperature in Columbus climbed to 41 degrees after 20 days of below-freezing temperatures. The last time the temperature rose to above freezing locally was Dec. 16.

1976

The Columbus City Council approved the use of $350,000 in federal funds to begin construction of a multi-purpose 24-hour child care center. The child care center was listed as the second priority need by the community during a public meeting in January 1975.
