Shreve files for re-election, other candidates file for congressional races

Rep. Jefferson Shreve, R-Ind., has filed to run for a second term representing Indiana’s 6th Congressional District, according to records with the Indiana Election Division.

Shreve, who lives in Indianapolis, is seeking the GOP nomination in the 2026 primary. As of the most recent filings available from the Indiana Election Division early Wednesday afternoon, Shreve did not yet have any challengers for the GOP nomination.

David Boyd of Indianapolis has filed to run for the Democratic nomination for Indiana’s 6th Congressional District.

Indiana’s 6th Congressional District includes most of Bartholomew County, all of Johnson County, among other counties.

Bradley Meyer of Bloomington and Keil Roark of Sellersburg have also filed to run for the Democratic nominee for Indiana’s 9th Congressional District. The seat is currently held by Rep. Erin Houchin, R-Ind.

Indiana’s 9th Congressional District includes a slice of southwestern Bartholomew County, as well as all of Jackson, Jennings and Brown counties, among other counties.

Indiana Election Division officials said more candidates may have filed for the two congressional seats, but their filings were not yet available.
