MADISON — The Columbus East boys swimmers came up just short in a 54-52 loss at Madison, while the Olympian girls fell to the Cubs 102-5 Tuesday.
Josh Pendleton won the 200-yard freestyle in 1 minutes, 48.67 seconds and the 100 butterfly in 56.65 to lead the East boys. Ryan Turner took the 50 freestyle (25.41), Alex Stilson captured the 100 backstroke (1:03.14) and the Olympians won the 400 freestyle relay (3:39.55).
Turner also finished second in the 100 freestyle (55.56). Mason Bean was second in the 200 individual medley (2:43.15).
Baylee Benefield finished third in the 100 freestyle (1:08.64) and fourth in the 100 backstroke (1:21.53) to lead the East girls.
