The Hauser girls basketball team beat Brownstown Central 59-57 after trailing behind until the third quarter. Jets senior Paige Miller caught a pass from Abbey Ashbrook and shot a mid-range jumper with three seconds left.

Rev. McArthur Pendleton was the keynote speaker at a community remembrance ceremony for Martin Luther King Jr. at Calvary Community Church. Columbus-Bartholomew NAACP Chapter President Gwendolyn Wiggins also spoke during the ceremony.

Around 200 students from 12 southern Indiana high schools participated in the third annual Indiana Model Legislator hosted by Columbus East High School. Lee Hamilton, Ninth District congressman, presented the keynote address.
