Letter: Challenging the left’s choreographed outrage over shooting

In the wake of the Jan. 7, shooting in Minneapolis, where an ICE agent shot Renee Nicole Good during a deportation operation, the left has erupted in choreographed outrage.

I challenge the left who are screaming the shooting was unjustified to imagine this hypothetical: You’re standing directly two feet in front of a vehicle, when the driver suddenly accelerates toward you. Would you be afraid for your life in that situation? Of course you would. If the vehicle had knocked the agent to the ground versus pushing him to the side, he could have hit his head on the pavement and died, or been crushed under the weight of the SUV. He didn’t have time to put the incident in slow motion and evaluate the incident frame by frame.

After the shooting, Gov. Tim Walz called for a day of unity, to which I responded to his video post on X, “Is this for the 1,000s of Americans killed by the illegals your party let in or is it for the woman that accelerated her car into an ICE officer?” This highlights the left’s hypocrisy: mourning one incident while ignoring the thousands of murders, rapes, thefts, drug deaths, and billions of dollars the taxpayer is forced to pay arising directly from their own open-border policies. As commentator Carmine Sabia recently tweeted, “One thing we know for certain. If Renee Nicole Good had been killed by an illegal alien, it would not have even made the news.”

Good herself bears primary responsibility for her death by accelerating her vehicle toward the officer, followed by the left, whose open-border policies created the chaotic circumstances. Not with ICE, and not with Trump.

For years, leftists have allowed millions of illegal immigrants to flood into the U.S. in order to shift the demographic so they can win elections. Elon Musk has called this tactic “demographic capture,” specifically pointing to how Minnesota politicians imported Somalis to build voting blocs.

Now, in sanctuary cities like Minneapolis, politicians are demanding ICE leave. But how are the illegals supposed to get deported if ICE is barred from operating? Leftist politicians have flaunted the law by allowing millions of illegals into the U.S. and are flaunting the law again by sabotaging ICE deportation operations. Congress passed these immigration laws to protect our sovereignty. If Democrats don’t want to abide by them, they should sway voters with argumentation and change the laws upon winning a just election, not flaunt the laws they dislike and then with a straight face say “we are a nation of laws” when it comes to abiding by the laws they do like.

President Trump won the 2024 election, largely in part on his promise to deport illegals en masse. Voters rejected open borders, prioritizing safety, the rule of law, and civilization itself. Don’t roll over for these communist agitators and politicians obstructing the will of the American electorate. We voted to deport and deport we will.
