A touring troupe from Asheville, N.C., performed “Let it Shine: The American Civil Rights Movement” at The Commons, which featured two actors from Bright Star Touring Theater, who reenacted scenes from the history of the civil rights movement.

Columbus City Council approved to allot $900,000 to the Connected Community Project’s pilot program studying how gaining access to computer technology and the internet affected area schoolchildren.

Backed by seven first place finishes, the Columbus East High School swim team rolled over Greenfield, Franklin, Pendleton Heights, Martinsville and Plainfield to win the annual Greenfield Invitational.
