Columbus native Dennis Roberts was honored by the African American Pastors Alliance with the Martin Luther King Jr. Beloved Community Award during the annual community breakfast held on the King holiday.

The first local interfaith forum was held to gauge interest in the concept of an interreligious group welcoming all spiritual traditions, which attracted 34 people. The group was scheduled to meet again on Feb. 20 at City Hall.

Indiana Bell named Eugene Black as the plant manager for the company’s Columbus district. Black succeeded Richard Holmes, who accepted a position with the company’s engineering department in Indianapolis.
