Closings announced for winter storm

The following closings have been announced due to the winter storm warning for Bartholomew County.

  • Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. will be on eLearning on Monday.
  • ABC Stewart Montessori School is closed Monday.
  • Brown County School Corporation will be on eLearning Monday.
  • Flat Rock-Hawcreek School Corp will be on eLearning Monday.
  • Edinburgh Community School Corp on eLearning Monday,
  • Jennings County Schools on virtual learning.
  • St. Peter’s Lutheran School, eLearning.
  • St. Paul Lutheran preschool, closed
  • St. Bartholomew School, eLearning
  • The Excel Center-Bartholomew County, closed
  • City of Columbus employees are working remotely Monday.
  • Bartholomew County employees are working remotely Monday
  • Bartholomew County Board of Zoning Appeals, which had been scheduled for 7 p.m. at Columbus City Hall, has been canceled.
  • All Bartholomew County Public Library locations will be closed on Monday.
  • YES Cinema is closed all day Sunday. Visit www.yescinema.org or call (812) 378-0377 for more information on showtimes for the remainder of the week.
  • Flintwood Wesleyan Church has canceled all in-person church services and activities for Sunday. A sermon will be livestreamed on the Flintwood Wesleyan Church YouTube channel at 9 a.m. Sunday.

  • All BCSWMD Facilities (Columbus/Bartholomew Recycling Center, BCSWMD Offices, Bartholomew County Landfill) will be closed on Monday.

  • All Columbus Parks and Recreation facilities and programming are canceled for Sunday. This includes: The Commons, Hamilton Community Center and Ice Arena, NexusPark, Columbus Gymnastics Center
  • All Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicle(BMV) branches and offices will be closed on Monday. The BMV will contact customers with scheduled skills exams and branch appointments to reschedule once operations continue. Customers can still reach our Contact Center during normal business hours, Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. at 888-692-6841.

  • Columbus Pediatric Dentistry and Columbus Advanced Family Dentistry will be closed Monday.
  • Coers Family Eyecare will be closed on Monday.
  • Watts Family Dentistry will be closed on Monday.
  • Old National banking centers in southern Indiana are closed Monday.
  • All Centra locations, including the Contact Center, will be closed Monday. There is 24/7 account access with digital banking.

  • The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced the four community based clinics located in Bloomington, Terre Haute, Wakeman and Shelbyville, will be closed on Monday.   • Gleaners Food Bank will be closed on Monday. This closure includes the Tom and Julie Wood Family Resource Center and partners, Gennesaret Free Clinics and the Purdue Patterson McAllum Mareta Charitable Pharmacy.
  • The BCREMC lobby will be closed Monday. REMC linemen are on standby, and trucks are stocked and prepared to respond to any potential outages. Office employees will be working remotely and are available to assist by phone, email, and through the website chat.
  • Rumpke Waste & Recycling will suspend trash and recycling collection on Monday in Bartholomew County and throughout southern Indiana. Residents with Monday collection will be serviced next Monday, Feb. 2. Rumpke will collect additional material at that time. Additionally, the Bartholomew County Landfill and Rumpke’s Recycling Facility at the landfill will be closed Monday.
  • All CRH outpatient provider practices and clinics will be closed Monday. In addition, all non-urgent and elective outpatient procedures are being postponed through Monday, as well. Inpatient, Emergency and EMS services remain fully open and functioning. Provider offices are currently contacting affected patients to reschedule affected procedures and services.
