The Columbus North High School girls basketball team beat Whiteland 52-37 after the Warriors led for 25 minutes. The Bull Dogs erased Whiteland’s initial 3-0 edge with 15 consecutive points.

Rene Campbell, executive director of the Columbus Area Visitors Center, was elected as chairwoman of the National Tourism Foundation based in Lexington, Ky. Campbell became executive director of the Visitors Center in 1994.

The Columbus East High School boys gymnastics team climbed over the 500 mark at 4-3 with a 92 22-64 31 win over Indianapolis Pike. The Olympians swept five of seven first places and Mark Chambers won the all-around.
